Privacy notice
This notice explains what happens to your information when you visit this website or send a message through the contact form. Dashwood Web Design is run by Ethan Dashwood, based in Brighton, who is responsible for that information.
What I collect
When you send a message through the contact form, I receive:
- your name and email address
- your company name, if you give one
- your message
- the IP address your message was sent from, which helps me spot spam and misuse
If you just browse the site, I don’t collect anything about you. This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or tracking. Like any website, the hosting service keeps short-term technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the site running securely.
How I use it
I only use your details to reply to your enquiry and, if we decide to work together, to arrange and deliver your project. I won’t add you to a mailing list or share your details with anyone for marketing.
The legal basis for this is my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about my services, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract with you.
Who else handles it
A small number of trusted services help run this website:
- Microsoft Azure hosts the website and processes contact form submissions.
- Resend delivers your message to my inbox by email.
- Cloudflare Turnstile may be used to check that a message was sent by a person rather than a bot.
These services only process your information to provide their service to me. Some of them may store data outside the UK, in which case appropriate safeguards are in place under UK data protection law.
How long I keep it
I keep enquiries for as long as needed to deal with them. If we don’t go on to work together, I delete your message within 12 months. If we do, I keep project records for as long as the law requires for accounting and tax purposes.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information I hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how I use it. To do any of these, send me a message. I’ll respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
